Single-Estate TEa means it's pure and unblended

Pure, unblended tea is born on a tea garden and premium garden teas are technically the best result the leaf can produce. This is in no small part to the garden manager, who works day and night along with a cast of helpers to make sure the tea is crafted properly.

Fresh tea makes a difference!

You'll find only single-estate Indian teas served at our Afternoon Tea experiences.

Housemade

Afternoon Tea experiences by Janam Tea mean a 2-course culinary affair featuring a pot of beautiful single-estate Indian tea. Once you select your brilliant brew, the first course arrives, which is an all-butter scone served with housemade cream and jam. As if that weren't dazzling enough, expect towering trays loaded with savory finger sandwiches and sweet delights (like my chocolate pudding!). Spirits, wine and bubbles are available as well.

Reservations are always recommended for Afternoon Tea!

Our delightful goodies take time and careful effort to prepare for you, so we politely request you to make reservations.

Garfunkel's Speakeasy is the only place where you can experience such pristine teas made for you by Indian Tea expert, Amy Dubin.

The location is 67 Clinton Street, NY, NY 10002 and the entrance is through The Burgary (it is a speakeasy, afterall).

Open Wednesday-Sunday, 12-5p, with last reservations taken for 3:45.

It is on the second floor and there is no elevator. It's not suitable for children under 6, including infants, though we do love them.

Afternoon Tea is a time to take a digital detox and truly connect with your company in a meaningful, delightful and altogether memorable way.

tIM gASHI

CO-OWNER, GARFUNKEL'S

Tim Gashi is a native New Yorker and has been in the restaurant industry for nearly a decade, having helped launch popular neighborhood restaurants such as Prespa and Zana. He has devoted his life to developing standards of service and hospitality, by working under the direction of industry pioneers, such as, Pino Luongo of world-renowned Centolire, and Tony May of SD26. Under the guidance of his father, Belushi Gashi, a seasoned restaurateur with 45 years in the restaurant business responsible for the success of over 18 restaurants in New York City, Tim has accumulated years of experience in opening up, managing, and operating successful businesses.

VAL gJEKAJ

CO-OWNER, GARFUNKEL'S

Valentino has been immersed in the field of hospitality management from a young age as a result of the close work associated with his family's investments. When his father, Martino Gjekaj, opened up Arte Ristorante in September of 1990, Valentino unknowingly began his career in the restaurant industry. His childhood was comprised of working his way up the ranks within the business - from washing dishes to bussing tables, and eventually managing all aspects of the business itself. His skills were further cultivated at restaurants, such as Zana, where he partnered with Tim Gashi and executed a successful twelve-year run.
